Design Philosophy
I aim to understand a person’s/families’ personality and come up with a style that fits that personality and taste. I do not strive to create a designer space filled with name brand pieces but a mixture of personal elements and key pieces, which together welcome its owner's retreat.

For me creating a space is about the feeling it gives the owners when they see it. It is my sole goal to make people fall in love with their space. For me a home should feel like a best friend, a place you can be yourself in.
About Me
I have lived and worked throughout Europe and the US and traveled through 44 different countries before landing in the San Francisco Bay area in my 40s. During these years of moving so much I learned to love the process of decorating each of my new spaces, collecting ideas and special items from each new culture. I loved turning each new space into a home that suited my current environment wherever my work had taken me.
In 2000 I bought my first home in the south of France and completed my first remodel project. This first “maison” (meaning home in French ) is where my real passion for design began. After years of helping friends design and decorate their homes, I established Maison by Heather in 2019 and put this passion to work full time. I pull from my own life experience and marry that with my clients dreams and ideas to create a unique “maison” for each client.
